Georgia Dancing

Georgia LOVES music and dancing to it. It's kind of funny to watch her when she gets really excited about it. She also has started to try to jump. Here's a little clip of both.

Heart of Jerusalem Cafe

It's been quite a while since I do a food review. I've had a number of people ask me when I was going to start again, especially since we now live in CO. So, here it is. My first review in CO.

One could easily pass by Heart of Jerusalem Cafe and never realize it's even there. The original restaurant is located in an unassuming strip mall off of Austin Bluffs and Barnes. But this hole in the wall is worth discovering. I've now eaten there 3 times. My first experience was at their 2nd location in Manitou Springs. At that location they have outdoor seating, which I suggest taking advantage of. Each time the service has been prompt, friendly, helpful and the food delicious.

The food is very similar to Mediterranean. Instead of gyros they have Shawermah and the meat is chopped up instead of in strips. I suggest getting the Ultimate or Veggie plate. Both have hummus, pita bread, falafel. The ultimate plate comes with meat and a salad as well. The veggie plate comes with tabouleh salad and dolmas. Joe and I usually order both and split them between the 3 of us (Georgia too). There's not quite enough food to share, at least not when sharing with my husband and daughter. :) The plates run $7- $9. They also have sandwhiches (Shawermah). Their tea is delicious, as well as the baklava. They have a great deal "Tea for Two". You get tea for two people and baklava for only $3.99.

We haven't eaten at many local places, but I rank Heart of Jerusalem in my top 5. If you enjoy Middle Eastern or Mediterranean food I highly suggest giving H of J a try.
